Explosive detection kits
We are proud to introduce our new
off-the-shelf detection kit for Peroxide type of explosives
Expray™ is a unique,
aerosol-based field test kit for the
detection and identification of Group A
explosives (e.g. TNT, TNB, etc.), Group
B explosives (e.g. Semtex H, RDX, C4,
etc.) and the group of compounds
containing inorganic nitrates that are
used in improvised explosives (e.g.
ANFO).
Expray™ is used as a pre-blast and a post-blast
tool, to screen against potential
terrorist elements. When used as a
post-blast investigative tool, the
product is proven to speed up crucial
investigations. Expray™ is also used as
a technical evaluation test in soil
remediation on hazardous material
"clean-up" sites.
The level of
sensitivity (20 nanograms or less)
surpasses that of other currently
available products. The testing process
is fast and efficient. No glass
ampoules, spatulas or waiting period
required. Results appear in seconds. No
additional tools or equipment required.
The identification/detection process
requires no special training and
testing can be performed "on the spot".
For both law enforcement and
investigative personnel, Expray™ is a
proven explosive detection tool for increasing the accuracy, efficiency
and number of interdictions. For
forensic and environmental
laboratories, it has been proven to
reduce the number of samples submitted
for testing, saving both time and
money.
Expray™ is sold in a
kit configuration, which provides all
three aerosol sprays, collection
papers, and an RDX-impregnated
verification pad (verification pad is
useful for ensuring that the spray
still contains active reagents, and for
demonstrating how a positive reaction
will appear) in a convenient plastic
carry case. Expray™ kits are available
in both regular size (100 tests) and
mini-size (50 tests).
Expray™
provides a low "per test" cost and
poses no risk to you or the
environment.
Drop-Ex Plus is our latest Explosive Detection and Identification
Kit. Drop-Ex is actually an
extension of the popular DROP-EX Kit
and detects the widest possible range
of explosive types, due to its ability
to detect the additional explosive
categories for improvised explosives:
Chlorate and Peroxide-based explosives.
Peroxide-based explosives are powerful
explosive substances that can be
prepared from several over the counter
materials. This well-known explosive
type is currently in use by terrorist
groups. This explosive material is
usually known by its abbreviation TATP
(Triacetone Triperoxide).
This system is based on the same
reagents in Expray™, but in a dropper
bottles, for ease of use during field
and laboratory investigation.
The
detection range of the kits:
Drop-Ex # 1 for Group A (Nitroaromatics)
- this type of explosives includes TNT,
Tetryl, TNB, DNT, picric acid and its
salts.
Drop-Ex # 2 for Group
B (Nitrate esters and nitramines) -
this type of explosives includes
Dynamite, Nitroglycerine, RDX, C4, PETN,
Semtex H, Nitrocellulose and smokeless
powder. NOTE: Most plastic types of
explosives belong to this group.
Drop-Ex # 3 for Inorganic nitrates -
the nitrates based explosives include
ANFO (ammonium nitrate-fuel oil),
commercial and improvised explosives
based on inorganic nitrates, black
powder, flash powder, gun powder,
potassium nitrate, and ammonium
nitrate.
Drop-Ex A for
Chlorates and Bromates – this type of
explosives includes potassium chlorate
and sodium chlorate.
Drop-Ex
B for Peroxide-based explosive
compounds – includes TATP (Triacetone
Triperoxide) and HMTD
Drop-Ex #
A is used for detection of chlorates
and bromates and can be used by itself.
Drop-Ex # B requires that Drop-Ex # A
be used first. If you are not sure what
type of explosive you are testing for,
you will need two samples. The first
sample can be tested using Drop-Ex 1, 2
and 3. The test for chlorates, bromides
and the peroxide based explosives must
be a separate test using Drop-Ex A and
Drop-Ex B. |
